Recent research projects related to the topic include Explore 2070 project (BRGM was involved in the assessment of climate change implications for subsurface water resource and coastal risks); THESEUS project (FP7 funded project on the development of innovative coastal adaptation strategies in a changing climate); CECILE (ANR funded project on the implications of sea level rise for coastal erosion); Misseva (ANR funded project on the implications of climate and global change for submersion risk in Languedoc-Roussillon); Public service missions in the region “Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur” for assessing erosion and submersion risk for defining urban development regulatory documents (e.g. Scots).

Key areas of expertise of the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies include integrated research in the Coastal and Marine Environment (Ecology, ecosystem services, spatial planning...).

The Laboratory of Physical Geography has expertise in the natural, technical and policy aspects of Coastal Zone Management, management and environmental protection of the marine and terrestrial coastal zone, sea level rise, coastal pollution (in water column and in sediment), and aspects related to climatic change (sea level rise), Integrated Coastal Management.

 

Recent projects related to the call topic include: SYNERGASIA (Ministry of Education and in-life learning); the development of a new methodology for the quantification and mitigation of the climatic impact on the eastern coast of Crete (AKTAIA).
